The Euphoria of Koi in Springtime

Is it possible to create a haiku with form and color rather than words? Something to strive for.

Could You Put Down That Damn Phone for a Minute?

Another 8″ x 8″ styrofoam tile in the making.

It was bright that day. The sun had attitude.

I print these out as 8″ x 8″ images on glossy photo paper, glue them to  8″ x 8″ x 1/2″ styrofoam blocks, and attach a sawtooth picture hanger on the back using Gorilla glue. Then I hang them all over my place. They weigh practically nothing. A sudden breeze coming through the open windows might blow them off the walls, giving my guests a new way to interact with art.

More memories from my digital art scrapbook.

I call this one “Square Eleven”

I create abstract digital art using several computer programs. I start by creating a graphic file in Inkscape and then use other programs to mess that file up until something happens to it that I perceive to be art. For me, it’s all about being pleasantly surprised. And there are no brushes to clean up afterwards.

I did a little college time until I got a job as a technical illustrator. And then there were those side jobs doing graphic design that ultimately led me into ownership of a printing and graphics company. Twenty years later, I closed shop and retired. Ten years after that I find myself exploring abstract art creation using computer programs. Art has never cut me any slack.
