Before the ascendance
the darkness enfolds
seamless, soothing,

then from it
rises
the moon
and shadows descend
to rest on the shoulders of night

infinite mystery
illuminating insignificance
with eons of indifference

Poem by Rod Raglin. Photographer’s Notes: I have a fascination with the Moon that finds me scanning the sky between late afternoon until early morning, any season, and in a variety of weather conditions. This summer in Vancouver, Canada, was another dry one with lots of warm, clear nights. These shots were all taken from my back yard.
