My brain scan came back
electronically, without commentary.

I expected an intake of breath
a frame by frame affirmation,

an attached graphic to explain
these pyrotechnic nighttime

symphonic explosions, a soundtrack
for the ages, or at the very least

a casual observation (my God,
it’s full of stars!) instead

I got one word:
unremarkable.
