large pine trees in a bark beetle free forest
after living long lives of capturing carbon

& releasing oxygen & having been a home
to myriad wildlife dreamed of becoming

the paper poets write poetry upon
& poets being another form of wildlife

dependent on trees, what paper imagines
as being a wondrous species of woodpeckers
