I once tried to kick in the screen
of a 21” color tv wearing
my Tony Lama shit kickers.

The boot’s heel & slick sole
slid off the smooth glass
like I was dancing a one legged
boot scootin’ shuffle.

I was drunk on my ass
on the Saltillo tile floor.

He was Loathing in Las Vegas.

Elvis, the undercover, stoned out,
Tricky Dick sworn-in-narco,
hippie hating cop was dead
from drug abuse
& some schlock news show
was reporting that he shot out
the screens of more than one tv
in Graceland with a Colt 357 magnum.

I hated fat Elvis.
