Nothing much happens here.
At four, cows walk up from the far pasture,
hoping for a treat at the end of a pitchfork.
My neighbor opens her mailbox. She waves to me.
A young cowboy whistles to his dog,
who ignores him.
The town’s banyan tree is slowly dying.
How far away my home seems,
how very far away.
