Morning Sketch, 57, Cloudy

stuck in the corner
of the keyboard
a note reads

‘music is the stuff
that binds the body
to the soul’ and I thought

a Springsteen concert
could put me in
intensive care

but a harp might lower
my blood pressure
and save me

that Pythagoras knew
because he conceived
the music of the spheres

in harmonies of motion
to embody energy
into the motion of life

while the keyboard
stares back at me
I try to blend

melodious sounds
of nature through
this whiskey glass

into a robin’s aria
the song of whales
the jazzing of crows

if only I could piece
it together on these 88s
feeling the keys possess me

that I am only mortal
and the music
will go on without me

Standing at the sink in utter bewilderment,

"What words should I use and where should I put them? Huh?"
