tomorrow
i’m gonna carry a casket
the body of a kid I once raced
in a long ago summer
in San Jose

high school
had closed up
for a hot breath
summertime
and we fucking ran
like goddamn maniacs
fueled by big gulps
Street Fighter
paintball
cigarettes
capture the flag
and Primus
