their sunken eyes, large & vacant,

have stopped crying.
Their bodies are shrinking

their thin shiny skins, cannibalized
by their bodies from within,

their organs are wasting
their brains impaired

motor skills & coordination)
If they survive they will be stunted

physically, emotionally,
mentally, socially –

There’s not much I can do to help
ease their suffering from here

I’ve sent money & I‘ve fasted
but I get real spacy when I don’t eat.
