My dog is sitting at my feet
staring at me. I am sitting
in my recliner staring back.
We are both quiet.
Her tail brushing the carpet
sounds like a child wearing slippers.
I think she has dark, almost
human eyes. I imagine
one day she will reincarnate
as a gypsy woman
& I will steal a chicken
from someone’s hen house.
We will feast!
I have one book of poetry published in Tucson by Moon Pony Press in 2009 titled, The Certainty of Looking Elsewhere. My poetry has been published in numerous small presses including: Dark Horse, Gargoyle, 6ix, Tor House Newsletter, The Moth.
