dancing with my father’s spade
practising the steps
digging deep
….
cardboard compost on his borders
an abandoned home
roses on the sidewalk
…
on his palm—an anonymous city
dead ends stop signs
blood on the road
dancing with my father’s spade
practising the steps
digging deep
….
cardboard compost on his borders
an abandoned home
roses on the sidewalk
…
on his palm—an anonymous city
dead ends stop signs
blood on the road

Cameron McClure is the pen name of a retired Chartered Surveyor who lives in Northern Ireland. He writes to find out and express what it is like to be himself and reads to find out what it is like to be someone else. His writing explores identity through memory and place and the spirit which animates us all. He is interested in all expressive arts, and in philosophy psychology and physics. He enjoys cryptic crosswords, board games and solving puzzles in general. He would be a lesser person and lost without a dog beside him.
