Editor’s note: This is a Lino Cut for a series of fables. A Lino Cut is a relief printmaking technique where an artist carves a design into a sheet of linoleum, rolls ink onto the raised surface, and presses it onto paper or fabric. It is similar to woodblock printing.
When I retired from teaching I decided to spend more time in the visual arts and took up painting--often influenced by the works of Max Beckman or Matisse. And I renewed my interest in photography following the tradition of documentary and street photography that tries to capture a moment or gesture that reveals the character in their time and place.
