I pictured our
rickety old waitress
coming out
saying you know your wife
is waiting for you in there!

my anxiety and guilt were scolding me
it pissed me off
at least I didn’t flip out
at the waitress
screaming mind your own business
to the thin air

I might’ve if I couldn’t calm down
