the throbbing ache of the mind, so
I believed you, telling myself
nausea was a dead butterfly
in my belly and vomiting
acid air was the resistance
of my innards because I did
not listen to you, nodding too,
without asking why I loathed glares
and noises, your stares and wolf howls.
