You bring one flower close,
and the room quietly fills with its fragrance.
Sambhar simmers on the stove,
while you taste it and add a little salt.
The mixer starts its evening song,
as coconut, chilli and curry leaves
turn into chutney.
The cake in the fridge disappears quickly,
and your smile gives away the secret.
Raindrops slide down the glass,
two cups of tea wait on the table.
Your hand rests beside mine,
your shoulder finds its place next to me.
The fan turns slowly above us,
your head rests lightly on my shoulder.
