the burden of a secret,
the fragile hope of a ceasefire,
the suddenness of endings,
the wisdom in not speaking,
spaces between music notes,
the stealth of moonflowers,
a final closing of eyes,
the default beneath everything.
And your relentless absence,
the most obvious silence of all.
