for once, i didn’t want to revenge fuck you
i didn’t want your heart under glass
in the museum of my patheticness
to fall down and worship at
for 20 years your moonlight skin
has shined on me
and i’ve been caught up in my knees
wanting them to buckle with you bent over the bed
or for them to bow at your beauty
for once, all of that depravity was behind me
and you were there
we were just touring the countryside
we were not young or old
we were neither in love or not
we were grateful just for the green
and the sun coming down on it
my obsession and yours were finally dead
and we thought maybe we’d stop somewhere for lunch
